QME Care were delighted to host an extraordinary exhibition on Saturday displaying the beautiful artwork of the late Sheila Ashby.
The exhibition was originally planned with Sheila and her family, with Sheila directing and influencing the planned exhibition but sadly Sheila passed away just before the exhibition could take place. Sheila’s family and friends felt the importance to now highlight her creative work in a memorial event following her passing, therefore proceeded with the exhibition as planned, holding this on the afternoon of Sheila’s funeral.
Sheila was renowned for her expert hand when it came to artwork and making handbags. QME Care displayed the vibrant works of art which included painted landscapes, handstitched canvas, and handmade handbags, although Sheila was very modest about her talents.
QME Care warmly welcomed many attendees alongside Sheila’s family and arranged a spread of homemade refreshments for all to enjoy.
Sheila’s family were very grateful to QME Care for hosting the exhibition in Sheila’s memory and very kindly donated some of the artwork to say thank you for the exceedingly high levels of care that they provided during her stay with them.
QME Care has now proudly displayed Sheila’s artwork around their care home for all to enjoy for many years to come.
