Our Rooms
At QME Care, we understand that comfort, familiarity, and a sense of belonging are essential to wellbeing. Our home has been purpose-built to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment, with a range of spaces designed to meet both individual and social needs.
Across all of our spaces, our aim is to create an environment that feels homely rather than clinical – somewhere residents feel comfortable, respected, and part of a caring community.
Whether enjoying time in their own room, socialising in communal areas, or relaxing in quieter spaces, every aspect of our home is designed to support dignity, independence, and quality of life for residents.
Resident’s Rooms
Each resident’s room is their own personal space – a place to feel safe, relaxed, and truly at home. All rooms are fully furnished and include en-suite facilities, promoting privacy, dignity, and independence.
Our bedrooms are designed to be bright, comfortable, and easy to navigate, with layouts that support both mobility and safety. We actively encourage residents to personalise their rooms with photographs, keepsakes, and small items of furniture, helping to create a familiar and reassuring environment.
House Kitchens, Dining & Lounge Areas
Each house within QME Care features its own kitchen, dining, and lounge areas, creating smaller, homely environments within the wider home. These spaces are designed to feel warm, relaxed, and familiar – encouraging social interaction and a sense of community.
Residents can enjoy meals together in comfortable dining areas, while lounges provide a space to relax, watch television, or spend time with others. These areas are central to daily life, offering opportunities for connection, routine, and shared experiences.
Quiet Lounges
In addition to our main communal areas, we also offer quieter lounge spaces for residents who prefer a more peaceful environment. These areas are ideal for relaxation, reading, or spending quiet time with visiting family and friends.
They provide a calm and comfortable setting away from busier areas of the home, supporting residents who may benefit from reduced noise and stimulation.
Activities Room
Our dedicated Activities Room provides a vibrant and engaging space where residents can take part in a wide range of structured activities. From arts and crafts to group sessions and themed events, this space supports creativity, social interaction, and enjoyment.
The Activities Room is also equipped with a Tover Projector, an interactive system designed to support sensory-based engagement through touch, light, and sound. The Tover projects games and activities onto a table surface, allowing residents to interact using simple hand movements.
Sensory Room
Our Sensory Room offers a calm and therapeutic environment designed to support relaxation and wellbeing. This space is particularly beneficial for residents living with dementia or those who may feel overwhelmed in busier settings.
Through the use of lighting, textures, and sensory elements, the room provides a soothing atmosphere that can help reduce anxiety, promote calmness, and support emotional wellbeing.
Hairdressing Facilities
We also have dedicated hairdressing facilities within the home, providing residents with the opportunity to enjoy regular hair appointments in a comfortable and familiar setting.
This service supports personal care, dignity, and wellbeing, while also offering a relaxing and social experience. Maintaining routine and personal appearance is an important part of feeling good, and our hairdressing facilities help residents to continue enjoying this aspect of daily life.
