Carer & Dementia Support Sessions

At QME Care, we are committed to supporting not only those living with dementia, but also the families, friends, and carers who play such an important role in their lives. Our Carer & Dementia Support Sessions are designed to provide practical guidance, reassurance, and a sense of community for those caring for someone living with dementia.

These sessions are offered free of charge and are open to anyone in the local community who would benefit from additional support, knowledge, or simply the opportunity to connect with others in a similar situation.

Each session is delivered by one of our experienced Mental Health Registered Nurses, who brings both professional expertise and a compassionate, understanding approach. The sessions cover a range of topics to help carers feel more confident and informed, including understanding dementia, recognising changes and behaviours, and developing practical strategies for responding, engaging, and communicating effectively.

We aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where attendees feel comfortable asking questions, sharing experiences, and learning at their own pace. As well as gaining valuable knowledge, these sessions also provide an important opportunity to meet others who are on a similar journey. Building connections with fellow carers can help reduce feelings of isolation and create a supportive network within the community.

Our team is also on hand to offer advice and guidance beyond the sessions. We can help signpost attendees to relevant local and national support services, as well as connect individuals with additional resources that may be beneficial.

And of course, no session would be complete without a warm welcome! There is always plenty of tea, coffee, cold drinks, and cake available to enjoy!

If you are interested in attending, please keep an eye on our Facebook page for details of upcoming sessions, or get in touch with us directly by emailing [email protected] or calling 01573 224886.

At QME Care, we are here to support you every step of the way.
