QME Care

Leave A Gift In Your Will

By leaving a gift in your will, you will help to provide a fulfilling life to those that reside with QME Care. As a non-profit charitable organisation, all funds that we receive are used to focus on giving QME Care Residents the best quality of care possible during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

We see the person, not the condition, taking time to understand small things that help that person live the fullest life they can.

Gifts in Wills are vital to QME Care

Looking to the future, gifts in Wills are even more crucial to ensure that more care is provided for more people.

Naturally, we understand that gifts in Wills are a personal matter, and that friends and family must come first. But if you’re also planning to support a cause you care about, we’d love you to consider us. Your gift might be in memory of a loved one so you may wish to ask your solicitor to make a note of this in your Will and let us know so we aware of who your special gift is in memory of.

Making a Will provides an opportunity to ensure the people you care for are provided for, and that your wishes are followed after you die. Having an up-to-date Will is extremely important and can be easier than you think, and we would strongly advise you to see a solicitor before actually making or changing your Will.

You can give a share of the remainder of your estate

This is a gift of money or assets left after all other gifts and expenses have been paid. It’s easy to put this gift in your Will without affecting any other gifts you have left. You can express it as a percentage – anywhere from 1% to 100%.

Accompanying text: “I give to QME Care, registered charity number SC010314, QME Care, Queens House Kelso (Ltd), Angraflat Road, Kelso TD5 7NS, a X% share of my residuary estate, free of inheritance tax, for its general charitable purposes.”

You can give a sum of money

If you’d like to give a specific amount of money, this is also simple to do.

Accompanying text: “I give to QME Care, registered charity number SC010314, QME Care, Queens House Kelso (Ltd), Angraflat Road, Kelso TD5 7NS the sum of £X, free of inheritance tax, for its general charitable purposes.”

If you’re worried that time will erode the value of your gift, please ask your solicitor for advice on how you might arrange it to keep pace with inflation.

You can give an item

Leaving something of value that can be sold to fund our work, such as a piece of jewellery, stocks or shares, or property is another gift you can consider.

Accompanying text: “I give to QME Care, registered charity number SC010314, QME Care, Queens House Kelso (Ltd), Angraflat Road, Kelso TD5 7NS my [description of item], free of inheritance tax, for its general charitable purposes.”

Your first port of call should be your Solicitor

Your solicitor will be able to advise you as to which option will work best for your situation. We strongly advise you to see a solicitor before making or changing your Will.
